We finally get our first look at the highly anticipated 2019 Chevrolet Corvette ZR1 last week, as well as a few details about performance. Now that Chevrolet has released the full specification for the ZR1, we can see why it will be the most powerful Corvette ever built. The ZR1’s LT5 supercharged engine is rated at an SAE-certified 755 horsepower and 715 lb-ft of torque – that’s 105 more horses than the Corvette Z06 despite delivering the same fuel economy. The ZR1’s track capabilities are even more enhanced by an available High Wing that provides an estimated 950 pounds of downforce. That adjustable High Wing is part of the new ZTK Performance Package, which also includes a front splitter with carbon-fiber end caps, Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 summer-only tires, and specific chassis and Magnetic Ride Control tuning for greater cornering grip. The more we learn about the ZR1, the more we can’t wait to see it in person this winter car show season. Phillips Chevrolet in Frankfort, Lansing and Bradley has Illinois’ Largest Chevy Inventory, including a great selection of Corvettes which the ZR1 will join next spring!
